A Look into Eastern European Fashion
Greek & Bulgarian Window Displays
I’ve never been the type of person to pay attention to store window displays, let alone walk all over town to take pictures of them. But during my internship at Fashion Capital two years ago, I was put on an assignment to find the best-dressed windows in London. It was a fun experience for me, and it was a perfect opporunity to explore London and its high streets during my study abroad program from the United States. See what store displays impressed me the most the winter of 2005 in Who’s Who in Window Displays
I recently traveled to Greece and Bulgaria and could not resist the chance to share some of their window displays and trends with Fashion Capital. Although the two countries border each other, their displays and overall styles are distinctly different.
In general, the Greeks are very fashion-forward. Some of the window displays in Athens make that obvious. Spanish store Mango had excellent taste when designing its displays.
Athens is home to most of the mainstream stores and designers that are merely fixtures in London. Mango has a strong presence several blocks away from the Parthenon.
