Croydon College students are Top of the Shops

Yesterday saw the launch of the fabulous Croydon College designers with their T-shirts in the Croydon Enter Boutique. Local press engaged and it was great to see such a vibe occurring with the talented 26 fashion designers. Their t-shirts now have pride of place at the Croydon store and they have their own dedicated area and already the tills have been ringing!

Gayle Atkins Course Head of Croydon College said “This particular series of Getting It Right First Time has surpassed all expectations. The project with TopShop head office team of Caren Downie and Rachel Proud has taken the seminars to new heights and all the students have derived real benefit from this series of seminars and workshops. Some of the designers are now keen to have their own label especially the six winners from Daisy May who will be having their stock sold at 214 Oxford Street. Our grateful thanks to Jenny for all her hard efforts here too – it’s all certainly paid off!””

The students will have their t-shirts stocked in Fashion Enter’s boutique for the next two months after which time the winning brand will be announced based on number of units sold.

Jenny Holloway commented “I have a special place for Croydon – we moved to Croydon initially because we were so impressed with the local talent and I just think the world of the Croydon designers who I have worked with over the last three months. I was immensely proud of their presentations at TopShop as they were so well organised and professional. The winners Daisy May were excellent but it was a close run competition as the standard was so high. We look forward to giving feedback to each student in January when we conduct our market research from the boutique. Can I also thank Harold Flowerdew fromEnterprise Learning Strategy Manager.  Department for Children, Young People and Learners, for his support during this initiative – without his input we could not have organised the concept and launch.”

T-shirts are on sale now and are priced between £25 and £45 pounds – each one is exclusive and lovingly made!
