Getting it Right First Time showcased at the International Creative Clusters event.

On Monday 12th November the highly talented Croydon College and Kingston College students showcased their winning designs at the Creative Cluster Conference.

Compered by Fashion icon Zandra Rhodes the conference was an evening of fashion glitz with thirty stunning models showcasing designs from a wealth of new and established designers who have benefited from the support offered by the evening’s host Cutting It.

Fashion Enter has been working with Equal via the Cutting It initiative to develop a new learning programme for all levels of education. Entitled Getting it Right First Time, Fashion Enter has derived a flexible seminar format that allows students to combine learning in an industrial climate.

With both Kingston and Croydon College Fashion Enter has worked with the year 2 students to create T-shirts in teams to a set brief. The students had to present their work and then had T-shirts sold in a retail environment. In the core of Croydon the T-shirts were sold at the Fashion Enter boutique in Centrale and with Kingston they were sold in the Urban Lounge in Bentalls.

The event on Monday was the final showcase of all the projects involved in the Equal programme and included London Apparel, FAD Fashion Awareness Direct, The Ideas Foundation, University of East London, London Borough of Newham, Newham College, Skillfast-UK, Tribal, City Fringe Partnership, Fashion Works, elel, Business Link and European Union.
