Sienna and Savannah Miller join forces
By Charlie Wells
Playing at fashion designer is the latest craze to hit Celebrityville From Kate Moss to Madonna, from Lily Allen to Kylie, it seems that Sienna Miller is the latest in a long line of celebrities taking on the role of fashion designer. This British model turned actress, notorious for her on/off relationship with Jude law, has joined forces with her sister Savannah to launch their own ready-to-wear label Twenty8Twelve by s.miller. But is this simply another celebrity using her status to enhance her career, whilst simultaneously causing the demise of those actual designers out there? According to Sienna this is not the case. She recently told WWD “I’ve always loved fashion and Savannah got a first in design at Saint Martins.”
The duo’s first collection is due to launch here in England in Autumn 2007, unveiled in a store set to open in the prestigious area of Notting Hill. Named Twenty8Twelve after Sienna’s birthday, the debut collection draws its inspiration from a variety of sources from Dickensian London to Beat poetry and Patti Smith, one of the most influential artists in rock history. The collection will include Empire line smock dresses, tailored jackets and dresses, pleated skirts and skinny jeans that zip up the back, to name a few. Prices will start at an affordable £40 for shirts and such like, with the ceiling prices reaching somewhere in the region of £350 for the more expensive coats.
