The Profile Fashion Event

After months of preparation the Profile Fashion event took place at the Business Design Centre in Islington over the last two days and its only when you start hearing the resulting success stories that you realise what an achievement the whole event was!

The venue was spectacular, the designers highly talented and with over 70 representatives from quality buying and retail companies there has been some excellent feedback from designers.

"Once again I would just like to express our gratitude for all the help we have received. Profile was a great success and experience for us and we are thankful to have had the opportunity to showcase our work at both the exhibition and also to be on the catwalk. Thanks again Fashion Enter for all your hard work and your commitment to Shyamoki."

"I was really pleased with the event as it has networked me to a wide selection of retailers that I would never be able to contact directly. I had Selfridges on my stand and I am now going to follow this lead up."

I am most grateful to Jenny Holloway for organising the Profile event; it has given me a platform to stand on and therefore the chance to be recognized by the likes of HOBBs ."

Each of the winners above now has the chance to have their garments sold at each of the retailers flagship stores.

There has also been immediate success stories with Hemyca and Corsellis both of which have been pre selected by TopShop concessions.

Plus 13 designers have been spotted by a talent scout and they now have the esteemed honour of being filmed on Sunday at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel (Gosvenor Street London) on Sunday 11th by Fashion TV.

This is the finale of the national beauty event The Face of Divinity and they are also holding a fashion extravaganza which is being judged by Trinny and Susannah, International lingerie model turned designer Nichole De Carle and Amelle Berrabah from Sugababes.

The success continues….there have been some excellent press leads too.

Beth Lunn Director Huge Promotions.

"I felt the event was really well attended for the first Fashion Expo in association with Profile event. There were some key members of press including Guardian, Retail Week and Telegraph. This represents an amazing opportunity for new designers to be scouted and growt their businesses as well as manufacturers to make key important contacts."

Lisa Honey from Topshop

"Thank you for last night we had a great time. There are two designers that we are particularly interested in and well done for such a great show."

Mel Frame from Topshop

"The Fashion Expo event was a fantastic forum for networking and building up ideas and this was exactly why TopShop was a participating sponsor."

Joyce Thornton from WGSN

"Profile showcased some great young talent in fashion and accessories, as part of the first Fashion Expo event. This was a great opportunity for these new entrepreneurs to make fresh contacts and connect with both fashion buyers and small production units.

As well as giving the designers great exposure, Fashion Expo workshops organised throughout the two day event, gave invaluable insider knowledge into the industry from many seasoned professionals. This is a great initiative which gives tangible, practical support and valuable exposure at the same time, and I hope it continues and grows."

Ellen Tagoe from Reiss

"I had a fantastic time. It was really inspiring to see what these young designers and new establishments were doing. I also enjoyed looking around the stands."

Sarah Mackinder from Peclers

"It's great to see people working together in London to actively reduce their carbon footprint. We really enjoyed the show and saw a few familiar faces! Hope everything continues to go well for you."

Mike Simmonds Deputy Head, Business & Enterprise Team, Government Office for London.

"Thank you very much for the invitation to Fashionexpo, which I though was very good."

Carla Reichman, Walker Media.

"Just wanted to say thank you for inviting me last night. It was lovely to meet you and I thoroughly enjoyed the event."

Fashion Expo was a unique collaboration that brought together a wide cross section of business support organisations. City Fringe Partnership and Cutting It coordinated and financed the event and our grateful appreciation is extended to both organisations and also to Chain of Events for managing the event so successfully.
