Winners Announced for R U the FACE of Croydon

The FACE of Croydon competition has been one of the most popular initiatives that has ever been instigated by Fashion Enter. Over 40 would be models (from an original application of over 120) arrived on the day for the photo session and then the public had to decide who the winning faces were going to be. Extensive press was generated by both Croydon Guardian and Croydon Advertiser and, all in all, the entire event brought the town folk of Croydon together.

The competition was a collaboration between New Dymensions, Fashion Enter and Xyris.tv and the objective was to give aspiring models a chance to have a free photo opportunity, strike a pose and make their mark!

One of the would be models was Croydon born Funmi Fagbemi who explained “I had never thought about modelling as a career before as I am studying fashion at Croydon College but this event was such good fun and I loved the results too. I have been so inspired by the event and the other program by Fashion Enter (Getting It Right First Time) that I am now going back to Nigeria to open up my own modeling company. I will be regularly liaising with Croydon and New Dimensions so who knows what opportunities there are out there too”.

All the models were showcased on the leading UK fashion portal for the UK, www.fashioncapital.co.uk and the public had the opportunity to vote for their winning designers.

Yoel Morales, IT consultant to Fashion Enter commented, “Before we started this initiative on FashionCapital we were ranked tenth on the Google home page for the entry UK Fashion Websites. We are now second! The hits recorded on this section of the site were phenomenal and the broadband width went up enormously. Croydon has really embraced this event and selecting a winner proved hard until we had to enforce a cut off date.”

The hits for just this section were almost 20 000 providing excellent exposure for all that were involved.

So who are the lucky winners…?

Alinda Sinabulga

When revealed to Alinda she had made the final three she was overjoyed, “the day was so much fun; I’m really pleased to have been a part of it. There were so many different people there who were all really outgoing and friendly making it a great environment to be in. I definitely would love to do something like this again in the future.”

Gosia Walec

Gosia explained, “It was a wonderful experience, I have never done anything like this before. I have always been interested in fashion, I love fashion so modeling these wonderful garments was a great opportunity for me. I can’t believe I’m in the top three, I’m so pleased.”

Bronwyn Amos

Bronwyn was delighted when she discovered she was also one of the winners, “I’m really pleased, I had such a great day and now to be chosen as one of the top three is even better. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved.”

Luigi from New Dymensions was also delighted with the results

“New Dymensions has undertaken a complete revamp on its company ethos and we have very select models on to our books. This event showcased a wealth of new potential models and we are delighted with the resulting winners. New Dymensions will now help progress these models further and help them every step of the way.”

Similarly Rodney Compton from Xyris said, “To give Croydon's youngsters this opportunity is wonderful. The standard of the models was really high and we had a very long, enjoyable day working with them. The winners are a good choice by the public and we are delighted to offer our services further. There are many commissions with top industry leads and we will work with New Dymensions to secure contracts for the winners.”

Congratulations to everyone. This was true engagement with all levels of industry and the general public of Croydon

Fashion Enter is a not for profit organisation that is dedicated to working with Crydon. It is hoped that additional funding will be achieved in the future to run such an initiative again.
